About Rachel: Freelance Writer in New York

Rachel McCain is a freelance writer, editor, and educator based in New York. She earned her MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College and her BA in English from CUNY York College. She has also completed coursework in English Education at Columbia University. 

Her writing has been featured in national publications such as The Source Magazine, Complex, Ploughshares, and GRAMMY.com.

As an experienced editor, Rachel specializes in providing services that focus on nonfiction. She has previously held the position of deputy editor at a small media organization in New York.

Throughout her career, Rachel has also taught an array of undergraduate courses, as well as classes for students from PK-12th grade. Currently, she works as a high school ELA teacher.
